CUSTOM ARTWORk

Fine art portraits are heirloom pieces that will be with your family for generations. Each one is custom made, unique and created to best reflect the personality of the subject. I strive to create portraits that are reflections of not only one’s appearance but also personality: that spark, twinkle in the eye or mischievous smile that shines through and makes you uniquely you!

Portrait Procedure

If you live in the greater Nashville area, I’m happy to provide a no obligation consultation in your home or office. At this time, I’ll answer any questions and learn more about your stylistic preferences and the intended subject you have in mind for your portrait. During this meeting, we can plan out the details, including clothing, setting, pose and background. If you live outside the greater Nashville area, we can coordinate this through telephone and email.

Once we have planned out the details, I will complete a photo session, approximately 2 hours. Some clients have photographs of their own they’d like to use and those are certainly welcome provided the image is of good quality. Depending on the age of the subject and time available, I will conduct a painted study. Together we will then determine the final details and images I’ll use as reference to begin the portrait back in my studio. As framing can vary greatly in construction, paintings are priced unframed. We can work together to find the perfect one to fit the look and feel of your portrait.

At this time, I request a 50% deposit, locking in the order, price and time frame for delivery of the final product. It will then be delivered in person, whenever possible, or shipped if necessary. The final balance is due on completion and approval by the client.

Drawing Commissions

Whatever it is, Custom portrait drawings are a beautiful way to preserve the memories you love!

WHAT PHOTOS WORK THE BEST?

These days phone cameras have come a long way so I'm more and more impressed with the quality clients send. In general, daylight works the best with no flash. It should be clear enough to see details like facial features without being pixelated. I'm able to edit photos to a certain degree so please go ahead and send them my way if you’re unsure. Professionally done photographs are also great options.

Pencil Portraits

·     8”X10”          $575

·     11”X14”         $1,100

·     14”X17”         $1,500

(One person paper only, 1/2 the cost for each additional head added on paper.) For larger sizes, contact the artist.

*Additional Fees Include:

Travel, lodging, shipping & framing.

*Half is due upon agreement of portrait; balance due upon approval (non-refundable)

framing options

There are several options and styles to choose from if you'd like to make it ready to hang. Please let me know and I'll give you a quote for ones to fit your size portrait. This charcoal drawing is created on tan toned Strathmore paper. The paper is acid-free and archival. It measures at 8"x10" and comes with the frame shown which measures 16.5"x18.5". The drawing is floated off the glass to protect and preserve the surface. Museum glass is used to avoid damage from UV light which can fade and yellow the paper and weaken the structure of fibers.
